What a great trip to the Dominican Republic!
Apostles By-the-Sea and Chapel at the Beach are partnering with Global Effect for a mission to the Dominican Republic to share the hope of the Gospel, to distribute gifts for children (for many it will be the only gift they will receive for Christmas), and to give the gift of clean water to families in need. There is an Informational Meeting before our service on Sunday, October 6 at 10:00a.m. in the Town Hall.

How much will the trip cost?
In Country Costs are $600/person.
This includes lodging and all meals.
Flights are $750/person. We are using a travel agent for this trip. A $250 deposit is due by October 1.
Additional payments of $550 will be due November 1 and December 1. The full amount can also be paid at any time.
What is covered with “In Country Costs”?
All meals, including snacks are included within your in country costs, however, you will likely want to bring extra money for any incidentals and specific snacks (there is a “Walmart-like” store in town). You will also want to bring money for airport meals!
One $10 bill is required when entering the Dominican Republic. This is for a 30 Day Visitor’s Card. This is required to enter the country!
Can I make my own flight reservations?
Yes. If you have frequent flyer miles, or are traveling from a different location, you can make your own reservations. However, please try to get on the flights listed below (these are the last legs of the flight from Miami to Santiago Dominican Republic and the return flight).
January 4: AA 2365 (American Airlines)
5:45pm departure from Miami
8:45pm arrival in Santiago
January 9: AA 3454 (American Airlines)
8:45am departure from Santiago
10:00am arrival in Miami
If you make your own flight plans, your total cost will be the $600 In Country Costs. Please make sure that we are aware of your plans so that you are not booked twice on the flights. The $250 deposit is still due on October 1. Additional payments of $175 will be due on November 1 and December 1.

First, make your $250 deposit by October 1.
Second, secure a passport if you do not already have one.
Third, fill out and return the Medical Release Form to:

What else do I need to know?
We will have an Informational Meeting on October 6 at 10:00 in the Town Hall to discuss the trip. Topics will include: Transportation (carpooling) to the airport in Tallahassee, What to Pack/Wear, Guidance from some that have been before, and preparations that need to be made as a group (packing supplies, etc.).
