Two men - one blind from birth, begging beside the road to Jerusalem - the other on the road to Jerusalem where he would be betrayed and beaten and crucified. One man seeks mercy. The other has come so that all might receive mercy. When blind Bartimaeus heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth passing before him on the road, nothing and no one could stop him from crying out for mercy. Here was the chance of a lifetime! Here was the one person who could make him whole! But Jesus was a busy man with a lot on his mind and the the weight of the world on his shoulders. His followers thought that surely he couldn't be bothered with the needs of a beggar at a time like this. But then something amazing happened: Jesus stopped.
